-The 15-foot chicken at the

entrance of Country Village

was constructed with an

assortment of Styrofoam

blocks used to ship furniture,

which were glued together,

carved in the shape of a chicken,

then coated with fiberglass.

-Six members of the

Loveless family, who originally

purchased the property in 1979,

still work at Country Village today.

-Long before it was
Country Village, the location was
used in a variety of ways,
including a ranch and profitable
distillery (during prohibition).
The site's original 1901 farmhouse,
along with three small outbuildings,
have been restored and are
currently used for shops.

-An old Bristol Bay gillnetter hull,

built in the early 1900s and used for

salmon fishing in Alaska, resides in

the large pond at the Village and

presently houses the acclaimed

Paula's Pepper Jelly.

-The wainscoting of the

Courtyard Hall uses

mahogany doors rescued from

the 1904 Hotel Savoy, which is

now the Washington Mutual Tower.
